I haven’t done one of these in a long time, so how about some long overdue happy.
Exploring outdoors helps everyone in our household.
Engaging with nature is centering and peaceful, and it certainly appears to have that effect on my children.
By hump day, I couldn’t face our dining room table and homework and fighting and pent-up little boy energy for one more second, so we called it a day and headed to the beach for sunset.
Here are two of my favorite snapshots from our Wednesday trek. I say it counts for #WGWW since it actually took place on Wednesday. This much-needed break was definitely the highlight of our week.
What’s going well for you this week?
I recall those days with my very active sons. So much energy all the time! The amount of food they ate. Wonderful, crazy days.

Yes! Fun, extremely busy times. I try to enjoy it all, and I DO enjoy so much of it, but as someone who gets easily overwhelmed, many days I want to sit in the closet and breathe in silence. It’s a tough balance to strike but worth the effort. Thanks for stopping by. I always love hearing from you.

Boys need to run like racehorses. At least mine did! I’m glad you gave the whole gang a respite. I bet they dug in after that with little issue.

If only living outside were an option. I prefer a clean, calm space, but I might could stomach it for a few years while my two are in their excessively active years.

Thank you. It was truly lovely. One of the best afternoons I’ve had in a long time…and much needed.

I LOVE these pictures!!!!!!!! (And the Wednesday theme – happy is good! We need happy!)
I’m enjoying the change of season; October is my favorite time of year and I can sense it coming…I’m still taking Lucy on walks among the redwoods (and then we go to the high school, which borders the forest) and it’s so beautiful.
It’s fun to watch the high school cross country students run past us on the trail; it’s even a hoot
to watch and hear the crazy-loud, dangerous-looking antics of the football team as we walk past the high school field. (I hate football, but when I see it up close & personal, it’s interesting…)

Football is definitely interesting. Disturbing, but interesting. I come from a football-obsessed climate where it’s hard to not somewhat participate in the…commotion. I have a love-hate relationship with the sport. Hmm…perhaps I just thought of another post topic. Maybe I should actually complete some of the ones I’ve promised and started.
I love October, too. Happy Fall to us all! Ha! Hope you’re having a fab weekend!
