This is a shot I took last weekend when I was exploring behind my house. It would be a bit disingenuous to refer to this as “my back yard” since technically it’s past our property lines, but isn’t it simply gorgeous?
The canal feeds into the Wilmington River and is one of several canals that collects the runoff water from the island to prevent flooding.
Even on hard days, I can’t help being awestruck at the sheer beauty of our planet.
I love what is beyond our fence during the Spring and Summer. I feel like I’m in my own little tree filled world.

I agree with what candidkay wrote; you still see the beauty and wonder in our world despite going through a hellish time! That is seriously awesome!
The photo is vivid and gorgeous! Just like you. ๐

You are TOO kind! I am thankful for days when I’m able to see beauty…in spite of the shit. I’m pretty good at seeing shit as well…and most days I’m even able to cultivate some interest in that, too. Ha!
